Anqa

Brief

Inspired by Kondaa at Walibi Belgium, use the same height to create a rollercoaster with a new worlds first element. The ride must be able to run two trains with no mid course brake run. There must be no inversions and plenty of airtime.

Solution

Anqa is a study in modern Intamin design, I wanted each element to give different forces to keep the layout dynamic and flowing without being repetitive. The worlds first element is a Non-Inverting-Roll-Over which takes a traditional roll over element found in Vekoma SLCs and with an additional twist. The rides theme is based on Arabic phoenix and the coaster has a unique soundtrack that suits the waltz-like movement of the layout.

Released July 2021

Ride Soundtrack

The music from Glenn Sharp uses arabic instruments to create a waltz-style soundtrack and matches with the rhythmic pacing of the coaster. As the music moves on, it becomes more ominous as a reminder that this attraction is not for the faint of heart.
